HERAKLES

BAJA racing team from College of Engineering Trivandrum

Herakles Racing are a team of highly competitive engineering undergraduates who invest their time and effort into designing and producing the toughest of all-terrain vehicles through meticulous planning and intense scrutiny. The team is an aggregate of students from Mechanical, Electrical and Electronics disciplines of Engineering united by a raging passion for automobiles among other things. The team, founded in 2016, has a rich history and loads of experience in developing ATVs meant for offroading, be it electrically driven or engine powered.

They are known for building the champions of rocks, dirt and dunes capable of conquering the roughest of terrains. The team compete in SAE organized BAJA design series intercollegiate competitions and have achieved major feats in both mBAJA and eBAJA category all through these years. BAJA events are one of the most challenging student ATV championship which focuses on developing an understanding in the fresh and curious minds about entering the industrial reign. The team has brought many laurels to the college in the past; their achievements include standing AIR 9 in 2018 mBAJA event with the second iteration of their engine driven buggy, SAF 2.0, and finishing 4 in FMAE 2019 eBAJA category with their first electric ATV AETHER 1.0. These are just a few from their long list of commendable ventures.

This season, the team is in the race for grabbing the title of "the first team in state to produce an all-wheel drive electric ATV", a revolutionary vehicle which will be significant milestone towards the sustainable mobility sector in the state.

The team has also been a huge icon for laying foundation to different SAE oriented clubs in the campus and has also inspired many young engineering minds to ponder for solution to different automotive challenges. The presence of the team has also sky rocketed the reputation of the campus to new heights as well as widened the horizons for the team members enabling them to interact and collaborate with undergraduates at the national and international levels. This has enabled the team to set an ever shining legacy in the campus.
